In which June tries to photograph things. Guess how that went.

I couldn't think of anything to write about today, because here was my day yesterday:

Work, go to vending machine, work, see what's new at vending machine.

Honestly. I eat right. Take care of myself. Why can't I shed the pounds?

Then after a nutritious dinner of popcorn, I went went to bed and HELLO MIDNIGHT NAUSEA.

Does that ever happen to you? You wake up totally nauz in the middle of the night? I hate that. It's always more jarring when you wake up with it. Not that I put whatever flew out of me in a jar.

So I have the personality of a mop this morning, as opposed to my usual sparkling interesting personality that is clearly so enticing, hence the part where I've been whisked off by a millionaire with a mansion and a yacht.

I just tried to show you that cartoon of Elmer Fudd saying he had "a mansion und a yacht" but guess what. GUESS WHAT. It crashed my effing computer.

Ny point is, 80 paragraphs later, since I had nothing to tell you, and look who can drone on when she has nothing to say? Who can take a nothing day and certainly make it all seem worthwhile? I decided to delve into my 900 thousand photos, that I really should organize one day, and pick the 17th one.

Littlerogie
LOOK HOW CUTE! Baby Roger! Who would believe this was only three months ago? Let's go look at his attitudinal self right now, shall we?

Outdoorrog
Crap. He is in the backyard, enjoying my highly manicured, not-at-all-ruined-by-dogs grass. Seconds later Edsel chased him up a tree and I thought I got a picture of that, but once I put the card thing (official name) in the computer, the photo wasn't there. Because this is how my life works.

You know what might help? Is if I read the manual for my new camera to figure out, you know, when I am actually taking pictures and when I'm not.

…And in further proof that I remain God's least-favorite person, I just went back out there to see if I could get another Roger picture. He had been so cute being treed by Edsel. Maybe I could get another cute photo of him. And by the way, he will leap right on Edsel's head, claws out, so don't feel sorry for him. Don't ever feel sorry for Roger about anything. I think he could take care of all of us, if the shit went down.

On my search for a good Roger moment, I saw…

Crankyands
Anderson Cooper lounging crankily near the place I ruined with my 84833 white paint cans.

Play
The dogs tearing after each other like banshees. Yes, that is both of them over there in the corner. Apparently everyone puts my babies in the corner.

And Roger? Nowhere to be found. Nowhere! Then I heard fighting in the yard next door. Not people. But "Rrrrrraaaaaaaaaaarrrr!" in a cat fighty way, and I said oh, no. Roger likes to squeeze under the fence and hang on Peg's deck, which I always assumed was sort of safe because she has a giant fence, too. But what if some other cat was over there?

"Roger!" I called.

And he jumped out of the tree right above me.

Sighhhh.

At one point, I was sort of hot, in a "she's 27 and probably a 7" kind of a way. Now I'm old and have to develop a charming personality. Guess how that's going.

  1. I don’t want to hijack this pet-picture obsessed blog, so suffice to say that Not Chloe and I would still spend as much time together as before. I wouldn’t be able to commit to being the head coach of her team because I would have to work during some practices and games. I could still assist. I can still play ball, but I would have to miss games.
The money really is crazy…at least to me it is. I mean, have you SEEN the cost of college? Not Chloe better get REAL smart or REAL good at soccer REAL fast…

I like those kitten pictures too, and don’t think June has the personality of a mop.

  3. SS#2 – Be careful about the catching up stuff. I spent my lunch time yesterday reading through 2008 and boy do i have questions!! Am tackling the start of 2009 today.
Hulk – If they’ve approached you about the position, maybe they’d be willing to give you more time freedom. You won’t know until you talk about it. Most companies I’ve worked for have been willing to bend on one thing or another in order to get someone really good for a position.

  4. Sounds like a great opportunity Hulk. And college is freakin expensive. Even with scholarships! My middle son had the HOPE in GA (back when I was easy) and it only covered tuition and part of the fees. The dorms alone were over 3000 a semester. Next kid is working on FL scholarships and they cover even less. And I didn’t even mention the cost of books!

Anita-Yeah, it’s crazy. And why didn’t I know you when you were easy???

  8. Thanks Linda in CO!
Wish I could say I was tucked away in some exotic locale with my hubby for 12 days, but, alas, I was home dealing with Hurricane Irene (flooding, loss of power, but could have been worse) and the start of 1st grade and middle school for my 2 kids.
So, I’ve missed pet pictures and new boys, Hulk…nice! And perhaps a coupling of a certain blogger and her faithful reader? Don’t tell…I want to be surprised! 🙂
    Jane…those BBP archives are addicctive!
How someone can confuse New Order for Foreigner is BEYOND me! But hilarious, nevertheless!

  15. Hulk, I really think you should take that job. I was wondering about your time with Not Chloe, but since the only thing different would be the coaching thing, you need to take that job. Even if you don’t chose me, I will just sit here and eat my German food by myself. Congratulations!

  17. Thanks Furry…and Sadie. We live next to a lake and our entire area flooded but we were lucky… we ended up with water all around and under our house, but it stopped about a foot under our living spaces (so close). We only lost the contents of our fridge/freezer and had to do without power for 3 1/2 days (challenging with 2 kids). We have flood insurance and the work to clean-up, dry-out, remediate and prepare the crawlspace and foundation of our house will be greatly covered. We will even get a check to cover the food we had to throw out. It was frightening for us but I am in NO WAY complaining. I have many neighbors who lost so much and they don’t have flood insurance. This week’s rain is not helping.
At the risk of sounding melodramatic, however, I will admit to being “shook” by Mother Nature. I was skerd!

  20. SS glad your damage was minimal–and you have flood insurance, many people don’t. What about earthquake insurance?
Anita, Mrs. Oh had some eye opening information about FL’s scholarship program several posts back. Check it out because one of her sons found himself without a scholarship when he was in the honors program. She was a bit upset.
I’m so going to try Sandra’s potato recipe. That sounds yummy and easy.

HURRY! HIT THE TIP JAR NOW!

I have been through hurricanes and know exactly what you are going through. (I don’t often get to say that!) It will be OK. Even though you are fine and consider yourself lucky (and you are!) be prepared for a while to be nervous every time it rains hard.
Good girl for having flood insurance!

  29. Why do people think it’s ok to commit to something and then CHANGE THEIR MINDS?? We had a dog/house sitter make other plans while we were ON VACATION! She texted me “do you think you can find someone?” I said “I already did…you!” Oh I was so mad! Mad enough to murderize her! But I got her back… When she came for her check I said “oh! Sorry. I found SOMEONE ELSE to give your money to.”
Marvin you are a shit for backing out on June and the pets. If YOU change YOUR plans then YOU need to pay your own replacement. Period.
“People let me tell you ’bout my best friend…” Anybody?

  31. Hulk – congratulations and take the job! Opportunities like this are not commonplace. Especially take it since you can still have all your time with Not Chloe. Not being head coach of her teams won’t be that big of a deal in the long run. My dad never coached anything I was in and was usually traveling during my dance performances, etc, but that didn’t make me any less close to him or feel any less loved by him. And, I loved the other experiences that his hard work afforded us. Duffylou is partially right…having more money doesn’t automatically bring more happiness, but neither does having less money.

Hulk, my two cents then is only worth that but if you will be spending great time as always with NC, then definitely go for the money. Everyone is right about college. We just got back today from getting our youngest set up at an Ivy League grad school. Her dad and I are “working class” at best. SHEE-AT is all I have to say on how much it has cost out-of-pocket in the last few months for us…freaking five times more than we budgeted. Freaking NOW I really know what it means to sacrifice for a kid. Freaking NOW I’m kinda regretting turning down that one money job for a more “rewarding” job and then for the more “peaceful” job.
Oh and Letha, about an hour ago Stud Muffin hollered out that Kid Rock sucked; I had no idea what he was referencing but now I know.
If I sound freaking exhausted, it’s because I AM…financial, physical and emotional drain sucks! I just want my normal life back now, where I go to work and try to squeeze in a little Pie time, sell a few products, drink some coffee, squeeze in a little Pie time.
