  2. This is such a great story. I hope that Sparkles has a nice sparkly collar in her future. Bling her up!
    Much better than Hoser.
What was that song? The 12 Days of Christmas…but with beer?

  3. Sparkles is perfect! Although they may find “Sprinkles” is more appropriate for the first few weeks…
You done good, June, mother of Violet/Sparkles!

  4. You’ve done it again, June! You’ve warmed all of our hearts. Was it hard to let her go? Bittersweet? What a doll she is. I am glad you can remain in her life and she in yours.

  5. I CANNOT freaking believe all this happened while I was expected to actually work. I’m all verklempt over here and the photo of her sleeping with her sharky toy with her itty bitty paw on it has put me over the edge.
Well done June. Well done. Everybody wins.

  6. So adorable! And they didn’t waste any time letting everyone know about her! I think that “Sparky” is the “traditional” name for the firehouse Dalmatian dog, so Sparkles is just perfect πŸ™‚

  8. Good things really seem to be happening to June over the last year and a half. Girlfriend got a hot guy, has cool new friends like Jo and Kit and DW and Mom of DW and Tall Boy and June’s lesbian crush who is Tall Boy’s girlfriend, she had a puppy deposited in her car who is now and forever hugely loved by many men and schoolchildren. All I want to do is go somewhere and buy June’s book, but there isn’t June’s book. Yet. JUNE’S BOOK JUNES’S BOOK JUNE’S BOOK!

Okay, their site makes me grammatically crazy, but I WILL OVERLOOK.
Maybe you could give them a puppy AND proofreading services. Or service’s.
Seriously loving this whole story, from beginning to end. Warms the heart. And the liver.

  11. I have happy tears in my eyes πŸ™‚ I am glad we decided not to take her, as it seems everything has worked out. Coincidentally, my father was a career firefighter. I hope they stay in contact with you so you can post updates for us!

  12. When you click on the pictures tab on the fire station link, look at the picture with Sparkles’ eyes bugging. In my mind, the caption is, “I’m living with HOW MANY men?”

  13. Sparkles! Perfect because it makes me think of sparkly pink which makes me think of June. It also makes me think of Tots and Tiaras, the Puppy Edition.

  15. Actually, Sparkles is a good name considering she was June Gardens’ little Violet. Sparkles = June. BTW, I dreamed last night you came to Atlanta.

  16. SPARKLES! That’s perfect for her. I just said to DH a little while ago that I hoped they wouldn’t name her Sparky.

  20. She will be well loved no matter what her name is. And we can always call her Violet just like we call the author of this blog June.
Congratulations to the firehouse men! I hope they can get used to their puppy’s trash talk.
