Mime Monday

[Photos from my road trip with Edsel. I’m not typing much because I’m on my ding-dang phone in my mother’s basement like every 50-year-old man I meet on Tinder.]

Does that say, “Virginia is for losers”? Rude.

Pee break.

Dis exawsteeng.

Pam’s house. I mean, she doesn’t live on a patio.

“Ope!”

We went to see Bohemian Rhapsody at the movie on the wall in my hometown. One of my friends brought mustaches. As you do.

Why I gotta be weird?

XO,

Jooooooo

  1. Edsel looks like such a great traveler! My dog, Franklin, can hardly handle going to the dog groomer–10 minutes away. In fact, I had my daughter get up early last Friday to come with me so she could hold him. He shakes and pants and cries like he is being tortured.

    Your pictures are fantastic!

    Lovely post, lovely June!

  2. Aww, what a lovely trip. If I drove that far i would probably still be in Texas! It does throw things off for us Texans when we go other places and realize that you CAN travel through 4 or 5 states in a day. I hope you have a wonderful time and get to see Hulk. We do miss him here in blogland.

  3. How strange to see Mooney’s in what appears to be a strip mall. But the big question is, do they still have blue moon and Superman flavors? I wonder if I would hate them now that I am not 10 years old.

  5. I love that the hotel had Edsel’s name on the welcome station. I get SO excited when my dog’s groomer puts his name on the welcome board! I told my husband that one time and he said “as much as you pay her, she better post his name,” which is true, but I prefer to be delighted and tell him every time, “Look, there’s your name!”

Great photos, still in love with your car, really love the striped black dress with the pants #trendy, and the movie night!

  6. Frieda Kahlo. That hotel looks wonderful. So much more character than the chains. Edz looked like he had a great time.

  7. Lovely post, Coot!
I enjoyed traveling with you and Edz. I must ask where you got that darling purse? I love it. Reminds me of the vintage Dooney I gave away and now am regretting letting go of.

  8. When did my home state’s promo become “Ohio, Find it Here”? Like it is where you get your lost socks or reunite with abducted relatives. The Heart of It All wasn’t awesome, but at least it was geometrically inspired.

  9. What great photos! I love your Frieda Kahlo Goes to the Cinema pics. I can tell you’re going to have so much fun!
One of the related posts at the end of this post is called A Great Injustice. Marvin took over your blog in 2010 and described his traumatic story of being stripped of his Safety Patrol position. The comments are hilarious!! As usual, people have three conversations going: solidarity with Marvin, description of their own childhood injustices, and astonishment that there should only be once space after a period when typing. HILARIOUS!

  10. Nothing like a road trip with a new car, crazy pooch and Pure Michigan as the destination. Glad you’re here, Karen. And SO glad we got to meet Edz. Left a text for your mother, who NEVER checks for them…but we’re not sure where our heads were last night. We should have invited you in so Edz and Toby could meet and become best buddies only to experience the heartbreak of separation. You’re here a week…maybe we can try that again?? Your mom has my cell number. Anne

  13. Great photos of your trip. The hotel looks like a really lovely place. The movie on the wall sounds fun, except here (GA) the bugs would eat you alive. Pam’s flowers are beautiful. Enjoy your time with your family and all the fun and laughter you are going to have.

  16. A photo essay! How delightful! That’s a lovely hotel!

You say “movie on the wall” like that’s normal. And being that I’m from the midwest, I don’t even question it.

I originally mime-d (mimed? Mime-ed?) my comment, but that seemed pointless.

Hello to Pam and her patio!
