End of the year in the middle of the month

Today I learned that a longtime reader, Cheech, has died. It seems like she’s been here forever, with her funny comments and her good stories. I was talking with her just last week and all was well in her world. No one seems to know what happened.

The last time we talked, she was busy trying to help a family in need.

So because I’m sad, I did my end-of-year video. You all mean more to me than you know.

P.S. Because it’s 2020, the video turned out all wonky and so I have to redo it. But I stopped working on work things to post this tonight, so I will have to take down the video, work on work, then work on this video and repost in the morning.

  1. I am so, so sad about the loss of Cheech/Janelle. She had such a kind, giving heart. She will be greatly missed.

  2. Cheech seemed like someone who’d have been a great pal. I came here to try to cheer up because today is really sucking. But it’s sucking for almost everyone right now. For Cheech, a prayer: There shall be a coming again for thee. (This is not a traditional prayer but I’m not traditional. I figure it’s a prayer that means something specific for me but can be interpreted according to most belief systems.)

  3. I don’t comment often but she has always been one of my favorite persons that post witty and funny and insightful comments. Very very sad emoji.

  5. My husband came in the room and I was weepy and he asked why. I told him I was sad for Cheech. He said you mean Cheech and Chong? I had to laugh through tears.
This community that June has created is special. The fact that we feel such a loss of a “virtual” friend is proof of that.
Someone said earlier today that if we could do some tribute it would be nice for us and show her family how far-reaching her loveliness was.
    She was special.

  6. I hope your video is back up soon. My heart hurts about Cheech. I loved her sense of humor and she always got mine even if nobody else did. Rest in peace, dear soul. I hope you’re laughing wherever you are.

    1. You are loved by so many. It’s so strange that we can come together as a group that loves and supports each other even though most of us have never met in real life.
I am so sorry about the sudden departure of Cheech, she was a kind and caring lady, along with her sense of humor. She is going to be greatly missed. RIP, Cheech.
Sending love and comfort to you, June Gardens.

  10. I’m so sorry to hear about Cheech. The internet is a beautiful thing in that people can be such close friends or chosen family without ever having met them.
I haven’t watched the video yet but one of the recommended posts at the bottom has the most adorable photo of Lu and just mak3s6me grin stupidly. She was an incredibly photogenic beast with so many expressions.
